At Oostburg State Bank, giving back to our community is at the heart of what we do—and Power of Community Week gave us the perfect opportunity to put that commitment into action.
With 37 employees contributing a combined 90 hours of volunteer service, the week was filled with meaningful projects, teamwork, and plenty of heart. Here’s how our team came together to make a difference:
Tuesday
We kicked off the week by putting on our aprons and helping prepare lasagnas for The Salvation Army. These warm, nourishing meals will help support individuals and families who may be going through difficult times. It was a hands-on way to show care, dignity, and community support while working together for a great cause.
Wednesday and Friday
Midweek, our focus turned to honoring our veterans. Team members created heartfelt cards for the Veterans Honor Flight, sharing messages of thanks and encouragement. These simple but meaningful notes help make each veteran’s experience even more special and serve as a reminder that their service and sacrifices are remembered and deeply appreciated.
Thursday
On Thursday, we volunteered at Diamond Vu Agricultural Education Center, pruning hanging baskets and transplanting different kinds of herbs. This effort supports youth projects, fundraising opportunities, and a more vibrant community—helping both the plants and the programs behind them thrive.
We’re incredibly proud of the 37 team members who dedicated their time and energy throughout Power of Community Week. The 90 hours volunteered are a powerful reflection of what can happen when people come together with a shared purpose. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped strengthen the communities we’re proud to serve.
